1. Portti työelämään – Gateway to Work Life 21 – 23 January 2020

Portti työelämään recruiting event comes again! The event is held at TAMK main campus lobby area on 21 – 23 January 2020 at 10am – 2pm. Welcome to fetch a work, trainee or thesis place!

The event is free for TAMK students and aims to create a low-threshold meeting place for students and representatives of different organizations. Event days are themed according to different fields of study but you should keep an eye on all event days and find the organizations which are the most interesting to you.

There’s a wide range of organizations attending to Portti työelämään and you can find the full listing of them from Portti työelämään website, Facebook event and later from the event catalogue.
Check out the most interesting organizations from the listing and bring your CV with you.

In need of a CV prepping? No worries, you can get your CV checked at TAMK working life services’ CV stand in the event. There’s also an opportunity to have your photo taken by a professional photographer in a CV photo booth.

2. Tamko’s Board and Council social media weeks 14 – 28 January

Tamko’s Board and Council are having social media weeks at Tamko’s Instagram on 14 – 28 January. Welcome to check out what happens in the everyday life of Tamko volunteers. You’re also welcome to shoot some questions at us!

3. We are seeking new Harassment Contact Persons for the Student Union!

Tamko has had assumed male and female Harassment Contacts for years, who are students at TAMK. These Harassment Contacts provide help and guidance for students who have experienced disturbance in any form. We do not document these cases and the contact people have full confidentiality.  Bullying, inappropriate or discriminating behaviour are taken seriously in TAMK and Harassment Contact Persons are supporting students in these kinds of situations.

The chosen persons for the position will be trained for the part, so we are searching for emphatic, listening and reliable students of different Degree Programmes. We also hope for good written and spoken Finnish skills. Tamko´s board member and employee are supporting these Harassment Contact Persons.

4. Student card’s autumn sticker will be valid ’till 31 January

Do you’ve a yellow sticker on your student card? It’s also known as autumn sticker and it will be valid ’till 31 January 2020, please make sure that you renew it in time! The violet sticker (also known as study year sticker 9/2020) will be valid ’till 30 September 2020.

You can renew your sticker at our office. We’re open from Monday to Friday at 9am – 4pm.

5. Tolu’s weekly sports shift 21 January

Tolu organizes a 2-hour drop-in sports shift every Tuesday from 5PM – 7PM at TAMK’s sports hall. We’ll play a different sport each week and on next time it’s going to be handball!

All TAMK students and staff are welcome to join, and there is no skill requirements. We just want to get you moving. We provide all the gear except for your sports attire and indoor playing shoes. You don’t need a SportUni membership in order to attend, just say to customer service desk that you’re coming to Tolu’s sport shift.

6. Application time for exchanges: more information in non-stop infos!

The application period for outgoing exchanges for the Autumn 2020 semester and the academic year 2020/2021 has started! Information sessions on the main campus will be held on Wednesday 15.1. during 11–13 in room E1-09 (non-stop) and on Tuesday 21.1. during 11–13 in room B6-26 (non-stop).  

An information session will be held at the Mediapolis campus on Monday 20.1. during 15–16 in room ADA 10016. There are about 300 places available all around Europe and some destinations outside of Europe.  

The application time ends on 31.1.2020. Please send your application in through the SoleMove system on time. Check your Transcript of Records and make sure that none of your courses have been graded as a zero. If you are attending a retake of a course graded as a zero, write an explanation of the situation in the ‘additional information’ box in the application.

7. PISTOT Kotibileet 23 January

It’s time for the first PISTOT party of the decade! What would be a better way to start it than with a little throwback. To PISTOT Kotibileet you may dress up with the style of your teenage years or try something that you didn’t have courage to wear back then! So dig up your best outfits and show up on 23.1. starting at 21.00 and let’s get the party started! PISTOT Kotibileet is the official afterparty of Pakoputki 2020 – Back To Teens. Remember to hide your drinks well so you won’t get caughtby your parents!

Social Club opens at 21:00 and the party doesn’t stop until 5 am. Tickets available in advance from Kide.app 6€, and from the door 8€.

8. Join AIESEC Tampere!

Are you interested in developing your practical skills through multicultural teamwork? Do you think international networking is important?
