1. Tursajaiset goes Winter 19.1.

Tursajaiset is an annual initiation rite, where your status as a student in TAMK gets its rightful measures. This year we are having our first ever Tursajaiset on winter - Talvitursajaiset!

The event begins on Friday 19.1. at 5pm in the parking lot of Kaupin keilahalli (Keilakuja 1, 33520 Tampere). There you’ll have your rite of passage and you, recently assigned Tursas, have the opportunity to participate in a checkpoint competition in teams. Keilahalli (bowling hall) has their doors open for us, so if you get cold you can always swish inside for a cold one – or maybe a hot one? From 8pm to 10pm you also have the opportunity to bowl – free of charge!

After the event ends at 10pm we welcome you to join the outrageous afterparty at nightclub Bricks (Hämeenkatu 18, 33200 Tampere). With a pre-sale ticket you don’t have to queue when you arrive before midnight! The pre-ticket is your ticket to the afterparty and it will be exchanged to a bracelet which allows you to enjoy the night with student prices!

NB! Bricks DOES NOT let party people in with student overalls.

The daytime event is free for all the new students, but the pre-sale tickets for the Afterparty in Bricks costs 3€ (or 5€ for non-members). Tickets are 6€ when bought from door. Tickets will be available from Solu or on Monday 8th of January.

If you happen to bring a "juicebottle” of your own, please make it plastic or aluminium one, Thank you!

2. Tolu's weekly sport shift

We will play basketball in our weekly sport shift on Tuesday 16.1. from 5pm to 7pm at TAMK Sports Arena.  Everybody can join our sport shift even if you haven't bought Unipoli sport membership.

Unipoli Sport is partner of our sport shift.

3. First Bar Studio of the year 2018 on 18.1.

New Year has arrived to Bar Studio and we’re open from 6pm to 9pm. During the evening we are having a quiz about the highlights of the past year so come to reminisce them with us! Instead of our usual Bar Studio food, we'll have sweet and salty waffles for you to enjoy! So come and have a nice evening, enjoy good food and join our quiz with your friends on 18.1. at 16-21! Bar Studio is situated at TAMK's catering studio. The entrance to the Bar Studio is on the left side of Kuntokatu 3 main doors.

4. Inssikyykkä 2018

Is your kyykkä tooth aching? Can`t wait for Kyykkä's world championship games? Have no fear, Inssikyykkä is here!

TIRO ry and engineering guilds of TAMK are offering you a chance to improve your skills for Kyykkä's world championship. Once again we'll be offering you a chance for glory, fame and prizes a small engineering student could only dream of. The prizes for the three top teams include three team positions to Inssibeerpong and the winning team wins a team position to Kyykkä's world championship games. But have no worries, if you don’t manage to get to the top three: all participants will receive an overall patch and there'll be free sausages and juice for the hungry ones.

So collect a team of four, march to Solu and sign up for the event and arrive on Saturday 27th of January at 11.00 to Solu's parking space.

Ticket prices: 5 € / person, 20 € / team. Official after party is stand up afterparty at 21.30 at Student House (Ylioppilastalo). Tickets with team place 3€, others in advance 5€ and from the door 7€.

Organisers: TIRO ry, SOURCE, Konekerho, Antura, G.L.O.B.E., Tarkka, TASO, HAPPO ry, TaTek ja Paperikerho.

5. Stand up afterparty

Students are always used to entertain themselves only on weekdays, but this time TIRO and engineering clubs of TAMK have decided to celebrate the beginning of the year by organizing some entertainment on this cold and dark January Saturday night.

So, come to Tampere’s historical Student House (Ylioppilastalo), where the doors open at 8.30 p.m. Stand-up comedian Arimo Mustonen takes the stage at 9 o'clock. After the stand-up show the DJ steps on stage and rules the stage all the way till 4 a.m. This time however, the DJ is going to play more than just your generic club music. Liquid refreshments are also provided in student friendly prices.

The ticket price is quite cheap: 5 € (prepaid ticket), 7 € (at the doors). You can buy the tickets from or at Solu’s desk!
