Student tutoring

vertaistuutorointi.jpg The purpose of peer tutoring is to make the starting and adaptation to new surroundings easy for the new students. Student tutors are guiding, motivating and helping to get the new students familiar with the studies, study practices, new city and local student life. Especially the first months and the whole first year are important. The ideal situation is that tutoring continues during the whole study time.

Every student can apply for the tutor trainings. Tamko trains these tutors. In the trainings tutors get to practice their communication skills, they get information about studies, social and educational affairs to be able to deliver all the information for the new students.

There is always at least two tutors in one group. As a pair/ tutor group they are supposed to guide and help their group during the whole first year. Tutoring is fun!!
